Russian pianist Ilya Maximov is the winner of the Gian Battista Viotti International Music Competition in Vercelli, Italy. He is a top prizewinner at more than fifteen international competitions, including Maria Canals International Music Competition, José Iturbi International Piano Competition (Spain), Hilton Head International Piano Competition (USA), and the Scottish International Piano Competition.
He performed at the world’s most esteemed concert halls and festivals in Europe, Asia and America including Salle Cortot in Paris, Carnegie Hall in New York, Chamber Music Hall of Berliner Philharmonie, Morinomiya Piloti Hall in Osaka, Esplanade Concert Hall in Singapore, Teatro Amadeo Roldán in Havana, Palau de la Música in Valencia and Barcelona, Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid.
He regularly performs as a soloist and with various orchestras such as Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Orchestra del Teatro Carlo Felice, Wuhan Philharmonic Orchestra, Singapore National Youth Orchestra, Raanana Symphonette Orchestra, Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès, National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba, Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra, among others. He collaborated with such conductors as Justus Frantz, James P Liu, Misha Katz, Darrell Ang, and James Ross.
Ilya Maximov graduated from Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu in Barcelona, Royal College of Music in London and University Mozarteum Salzburg where he studied with renowned pianists and pedagogues Stanislav Pochekin, Dmitri Alexeev and Pavel Gililov.
Alongside his solo career Ilya Maximov is a teaching assistant at University Mozarteum Salzburg in the class of Pavel Gililov.
