gamut inc - AGGREGATE

gamut inc has dedicated itself to exploring the new possibilities of computer-controlled pipe organs, the so-called "hyperorgan." This innovative approach allows a computer to play the organ while all sounds are produced by the authentic acoustic pipes, creating a unique blend of traditional and contemporary musical expression.
Led by composers Marion Wörle and Maciej Sledziecki, the ensemble brings their acclaimed AGGREGATE project to Poland for the first time. This performance marks the debut of NOSPR's organ under computer control, utilizing the full range of tonal colors and possibilities that only computerized precision can achieve.
Rather than merely focusing on superhuman speed and complexity—though that remains part of the experience—gamut inc explores the finest nuances and sound layering techniques more commonly associated with electronic music on the organ. The performance creates a euphoric, intoxicating maelstrom through overlapping, accelerating harmonies that move between harmonic consonance and noise.
Adding a visual dimension to their performance, gamut inc will also incorporate NOSPR's lighting system, complementing their musical journey with choreographed illumination that responds to and enhances the sonic experience.
Since 2013, this interdisciplinary ensemble has been performing internationally with organs and self-built robots, curating concert formats and festivals across the globe—from Japan to Iceland, Canada, and throughout Europe. Their work explores the critical use of technology in innovative music theater and machine music. Since 2019, they have curated the AGGREGATE Festival in Berlin, dedicated to computer-controlled pipe organs.
Beyond their organ performances, gamut inc creates music-theatre works, including their robot-opera ZEROTH LAW at Deutsche Oper Berlin. This production featured 50 music robots from the Logos Foundation performing alongside the RIAS Chamber Choir as part of their human-machine music theatre trilogy.
With commissions and invitations to festivals such as CTM, SONIC ACTS, Sónar, and more, gamut inc continues to push the boundaries of what's possible at the intersection of traditional instruments and modern technology.
