Gabriele Agrimonti - NOSPR

Gabriele AgrimontiOrgan

Gabriele Agrimonti is one of the most prominent Italian organists of his generation. Since 2022, he has been the titular organist and artistic director of the historic J. Merklin organ at the National Church of San Luigi dei Francesi in Rome.

Born in 1995, he began his musical studies at the age of 10, and at just 13 years old, he was appointed co-titular organist of the Basilica Magistrale of Santa Maria della Steccata in Parma, his hometown.

After graduating with top honors in organ and organ composition at the A. Boito Conservatory of Parma, he moved to France to continue his studies in improvisation, harmony, polyphony, fugue, and orchestration at the Paris Conservatory (CNSMDP), benefiting from the teachings of T. Escaich, L. Fassang, T. Ospital, and T. Lacôte, among others.

He has received numerous prizes in international improvisation competitions, including those in Haarlem (unanimous jury decision), St Albans, Strasbourg, and Paris, establishing himself as the first Italian improviser ever to achieve such recognition. He also won the first prize and the audience prize at the X. Darasse Interpretation Competition in Toulouse (symphonic organ category), as well as the audience prize and the online prize at the Saint-Sulpice Composition Competition 2021 in Paris.

His international concert career has taken him to perform in some of the most prestigious cathedrals, churches, and concert halls across Europe.
