Ewa TraczSoprano
Graduate of the Accademia Teatro alla Scala in Milan and Master’s and doctoral programmes at the K. Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice in prof. Ewy Biegas’ solo voice class. She is currently working as a voice pedagogue at her Katowice alma mater. She is a laureate of prestigious competitions, including: 2nd prize at the Klaudia Taev International Competition for Young Opera Singers (Estonia, 2015), 2nd prize at the 9th Moniuszko Vocal Competition and 1st prize at the 1st Karol Szymanowski International Music Competition.
In 2014, she debuted as G. Verdi’s eponymous Giovanna D’arco and as Donna Anna in W.A. Mozart’s Don Giovanni. She portrayed Marianna in R. Strauss’ Der Rosenkavalier and Fiordiligi in W.A. Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte. She debuted on the stage of Milanese La Scala in 2016 as Konstanze in W.A. Mozart’s Die Entführung aus dem Serail, and in 2017 she played the role of Gertrud, the mother, in E. Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel. In 2018, Warsaw audiences could watch her on the Grand Theatre National Opera stage as Micaeli in Carmen and as Ulany in J.I. Paderewski’s Manru. During the tour of Japan in 2019, working with the Warsaw Chamber Opera, she performed at the Bunka Kaikan in Tokyo, and in 2022 she performed at the Hyogo Performing Arts Center in Kobe. That year, she also performed at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam in the soprano part of Szymanowski’s Stabat Mater and debuted as Roxana in Szymanowski’s King Roger at the Opera at the Castle in Szczecin, for which she was awarded the title of The Best Singer of the year 2023 in the 17th edition of the J. Kiepura Theatre Music Awards.
