Dorothea Röschmann - NOSPR

Born in Flensburg, Dorothea Röschmann was awarded the title of Kammersängerin at the Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin in 2017, where she was a member of the ensemble for many years. She has been a frequent guest at the Salzburg Festival since 1995 and also at the Wiener Staatsoper, Bayerische Staatsoper Munich, Semperoper Dresden, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden and at the Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin where she began her career as a member of the Ensemble.
Renowned as a distinguished Mozartian, many of her signature roles are documented on a recording of Mozart arias with Daniel Harding and the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra for Sony Classics. She has recently ventured in to pastures new with role debuts as Ariadne, Elisabeth/Tannhäuser at the Dresden Semperoper and Gluck’s Alceste at theBayerische Staatsoper Munich.
In the 2019/2020 season her concerts included Tove/Gurre-Lieder with Jonathan Nott/Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Rückert-Lieder with Rafael Payare/San Diego Symphony, Berg's Sieben frühe Lieder with Sir Simon Rattle/London Symphony Orchestra and Beethoven Choral Fantasy with Louis Langrée/Cincinnati Symphony, and Wagner’s Wesendonck Lieder with Robin Ticciati/Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin and with Karina Kanellakis to open the season with the Orchestre de Paris. Other recent highlights include Wozzeck (Marie)with Daniel Harding/Berliner Philharmoniker and Bayerischer Rundfunk Orchester Munich; Strauss Vier letzte Lieder with Daniel Barenboim/Staatskapelle Berlin, Daniel Harding/Filarmonica della Scala, Antonio Pappano in Rome, Yannick Nézet-Séguin in Rotterdam and Zubin Mehta in Valencia, as well as the title role of Theodora at Carnegie Hall with Harry Bicket and the English Concert, Schumann's Faustszenen with Daniel Harding/Berliner Philharmoniker, a European tour with Marris Jansons/Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra of Mahler Symphony No. 4, and Purcell’s Dido at Carnegie Hall with Les Violons du Roy.
A prolific recitalist, she has appeared at London’s Wigmore Hall, Amsterdam’s Het Concertgebouw, Wiener Konzerthaus and Musikverein, in Antwerp, Lisbon, Madrid, Cologne, Brussels, Oslo and at the Edinburgh, Munich, and Schwarzenberg Festivals. In the 2019/2020 season she sung with Daniel Barenboim at the Pierre Boulez Saal, Berlin. She has also appeared with Mitsuko Uchida at the Lucerne Festival, London’s Wigmore Hall and on tour in the U.S. culminating in a recital at New York’s Carnegie Hall. The live recording from Wigmore Hall released by Decca Classics won the ‘Best Solo Vocal Album’ at the 2017 Grammy Awards.
