Bożena Bujnicka is an opera singer renowned for her unique timbre and acting expression, laureate of numerous competitions both in Poland and abroad.
She has performed as a soloist at many venues in Poland, Germany, Switzerland, England and France, including the prestigious Festival d'Aix-en-Provence.
She graduated with honours from the Chopin Music University in Warsaw, Department of Vocal and Acting Studies, in prof. Izabela Kłosińska’s class. She spent her final year studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, in prof. Rudolf Piernay’s class. She also graduated from the Opera Academy Young Talents Educational Program at the Grand Theatre - National Opera in Warsaw, as well as the prestigious International Opera Studio at the Opernhaus Zürich.
Her professional stage debut took place at the Grand Theatre - National Opera in w 2015. Her repertoire includes such parts as: Mozart’s Countess, Donna Elvira, Pamina, Gluck’s Euridice, Puccini’s Liù and Mimì, Tchaikovsky’s Tatiana, Monteverdi’s Poppea. She is a laureate of numerous Polish and international competitions and recipient of a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. In 2019, she won the prestigious Kiepura award for the role of Iris in Petitgirard contemporary opera Guru. She performs as a soloist at leading Polish cultural institutions: Grand Theatre - National Opera, National Forum of Music, NOSPR, Warsaw Philharmonic, and many others. She feels at ease in a varied repertoire spanning music from the baroque period to contemporary pieces, as well as oratorios and lieder.
In addition to singing, Bożena also develops her director’s skills, having debuted as a director at the Grand Theatre - National Opera in 2017, worked as director’s assistant (including revivals of her own) and multimedia director (including 3D mapping).
