Błoto + Ion D: - NOSPR

The music of Wrocław-based band Błoto is firmly rooted in hip-hop, drawing loosely on the sounds of the 1990s. Raw, gritty and uncompromising, it derives its power from drums and bass. In a sense, it is also radical. It reflects the climate of the times in which it was created – a period marked by worsening climate change, deepening social divisions, hate speech, rising nationalism, police brutality, nepotism, political cronyism and the dismantling of the rule of law. All of this is unfolding before our eyes. This rawness and social engagement find their fullest expression on the album Atmosfera, recorded in collaboration with Bucharest-born Ion D. The combination of Błoto’s uncompromising sonic narrative and Ion D’s underground edge has brought a new dimension to the band’s music, further accentuating the dense, tense and distinctive atmosphere of the world around us.
