Artur TuznikPiano

Based in Copenhagen, Denmark since 2008, award-winning Polish pianist Artur Tuznik has established himself as a versatile musician working across jazz, improvised and classical music scenes in Europe, both as a pianist and composer. His recent albums as a leader and co-leader dive into crossover-classical music (The Space Above in a piano/flute/drum trio or CASCADES in a duet with Danish saxophone veteran Thomas Agergaard), while releases with his sextet employs elements of Slavic folk melodies and Scandinavian jazz.
Artur has been nominated to Danish Music Awards 2022 in the category Best Jazz Composer of the Year. He has written commissioned pieces for classical festivals in Denmark and been involved in many projects connecting the worlds of jazz and classical music. Artur is also one of only a few musicians to have studied at both the Royal Danish Academy of Music and Rhythmic Music Conservatory in the Danish capital.
As a pianist, Tuznik has performed with Tomasz Stanko, Chris Cheek, Tony Malaby, Veronica Swift, Anders Christensen, Jeremy Pelt, Thommy Andersson among many others. He has worked closely with Danish Radio Big Band and performed his music and projects on Danish (DR Koncerthuset) and Polish (JAZZ.PL) national radios. His recognizable musical voice is strongly influenced by the language of Ravel or Szymanowski and folk music of his origins, but rooted in sound inspired by Charles Mingus.
