Anna Byrcyn - NOSPR

Ania Byrcyn is a vocalist, composer, and lyricist. She first came to wider public attention as the winner of the Debuts competition at the National Festival of Polish Song in Opole and as a finalist of the television programme The Voice of Poland, where she distinguished herself not only through the unique timbre of her voice, but also through the maturity of her interpretations and her emotional authenticity. She graduated with distinction from the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, where she studied in the class of Mieczysław Szcześniak.

The artist comes from Zakopane, and her roots exert a significant influence on her musical identity. Together with the 9SIYŁ ensemble, she performs worldwide, proudly promoting the music, traditions, and culture of Podhale (also known as the Polish Highlands), combining folk sensibility with a contemporary sound. During the Christmas carol season, she also collaborates with Zakopower (a Polish Highlander folk music group), which further underscores her close connection with the music of the mountains and the region’s heritage.

If one were to choose a single word to describe Ania Byrcyn’s artistic voice, the word would be ‘contrast’. Her music oscillates between tenderness and strength, where gentle, intimate acoustic ballads encounter a more robust, resonant sound.

At present, Ania Byrcyn is balancing a busy concert schedule with intensive work on her debut album, intended to signal the start of a new chapter in her career.
