Akiko Ebi developed her career after winning the 41st Japan Music Concours in her freshman year in Tokyo. While she was the first year of studying with Aldo Ciccolini at the Paris Conservatoire, she won the 2nd Grand Prix at the Marguerite Long International Concours also awarded 4 special prizes by A. Rubinstein etc. She won the 5th prize at the 10th International Chopin Competition in 1980. She has received numerous awards and official commendations, including Bruchollerie Prize, two Japan Gold Disc Awards, Bordeaux Festival gold prize, the Order of Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres from the French Gouvernment, the Exxon-Mobile Music Prize (Japan) etc. For more than 40 years Ebi is active in 35 countries in festivals as Vernier, La Rocque d’Antheron, Tokyo, IKIF in New York, recordings for worldwide TV & Radio including Japan, Europe, USA, Central & South America, Canada, Russia, China, Korea, the Middle East, North Africa. She has performed with many conductors as Skrowacewsky, Brüggen, Foster, Janowski, Sinaisky, Guschlbauer, Koschler etc. Played in Berlin Philharmony Hall, Leipzig Gewanthaus, Teatro Colon, Suntory Hall, Theatre des Champs Elysées, Pleyel, Wigmore Hall, Warsaw Philharmony etc. and with orchestras as Warsaw National Philharmonic, Philharmonique de Radio France, Monte Carlo Philharmonique, Argentina National Symphony, Luxembourg Philharmonic, British orchestras, NHK Symphony, almost all japanese orchestras. Two-piano duo concert with Martha Argerich on TV was broadcast in many countries throughout Europe, in Israel & Japan. EBI has recorded 11 CDs
