The Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra (NOSPR) is a leader among Polish orchestras and one of the most important institutions of culture in the country. For almost 90 years, it has been contributing to the main currents of Polish musical culture with its concerts, publications and educational activity.

The orchestra regularly performs with the greatest musicians in the world, and its spectacular seat is a place admired by audiences and artists alike. Since April 2018, NOSPR has been a member of the ECHO, an organisation bringing together 23 Europe’s finest concert halls.

At NOSPR, we continue the best traditions in the world of music, simultaneously creating new formats of artistic events and seeking new ways of interacting with audiences. We are co-organisers of the Katowice Culture Nature Festival, The Festival of Premieres and the Music+Science Festival, as well as the Karol Szymanowski International Music Competition.

We are continuously evolving and developing, which is why we are seeking an employee to join our team in the position of:

ORCHESTRA MUSICIAN TUTTI - 1ST VIOLIN

The auditions will take place on 25.06.2025 at 14:00 at NOSPR in Katowice, plac Wojciecha Kilara 1. 

Please submit your applications by post, addressed: NOSPR, Plac W. Kilara 1, 40-202 Katowice, with the note "Dział Personalny” on the envelope; or by e-mail: rekrutacja@nospr.org.pl no later than 11.05.2025. Please title your email as follows: “ORCHESTRA MUSICIAN TUTTI - 1ST VIOLIN”. 

The application should include unedited audio-video recording of following pieces:

• W.A. Mozart – 1st movement from the violin concerto chosen by the candidate to perform during the auditions,
• R. Strauss - Don Juan (orchestral part) from the beginning to about the letter D.

The video should be provided via YouTube link. Please include a CV with a description of your artistic achievements in your application and have it prepared in both Polish and English. Also, include whether you will require a NOSPR-provided accompanist.    

Only selected candidates will be invited to participate in the auditions. They will be informed about participation in the auditions no later than 25.05.2025. 

1st stage: 

(the order of performance of choice)

1. 1. J.S. Bach – a slow movement (chosen by the candidate) from Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin. 
2. 2. W.A. Mozart – 1st and 2nd movement with cadenzas, from one of the following violin concertos to be chosen by the candidate: G major K.216, D major K.218, or A major K.219. 

2nd stage: 

1st movement (with cadenza where applicable), of one of the following violin concertos to be chosen by the candidate: L. van Beethoven, F. Mendelssohn-Bartholdy (in E minor, Op. 64), J. Brahms, J. Sibelius, P. Tchaikovsky, S. Prokofiev (in D major or G minor), M.  Karłowicz, K. Szymanowski (No. 1 or No. 2).

Sheet music for the selected orchestra pieces will be sent to candidates qualified for the auditions no later than 25.05.2025.
