The Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra is a leader among Polish orchestras and one of the most important institutions of culture in the country. For over 85 years, it has been contributing to the main currents of Polish musical culture with its concerts, publications, and educational activity.

The orchestra regularly performs with the greatest musicians in the world, and its spectacular seat is a place admired by audiences and artists alike. Since April 2018, NOSPR has been a member of the ECHO, an organisation bringing together 22 Europe’s finest concert halls.

At NOSPR, we continue the best traditions in the world of music, simultaneously creating new formats of artistic events and seeking new ways of interacting with audiences. We are co-organisers of the Katowice Culture Nature Festival, The Festival of Premieres and the Music+Science Festival, as well as the Karol Szymanowski International Music Competition.

We are continuously evolving and developing, which is why we are seeking an employee to join our team in the position of:

ORCHESTRA MUSICIAN TRUMPET 2ND VOICE

The auditions will take place on 14.06.2024  at 14.00 at the seat of NOSPR in Katowice, plac Wojciecha Kilara 1.

Please submit your applications by post, addressed NOSPR, Plac W. Kilara 1, 40-202 Katowice, with the note “do Działu Personalnego” on the envelope; or by email: rekrutacja@nospr.org.pl by 29.04.2024. Please title your email as follows: „Muzyk orkiestrowy trębacz II głos”.

An application must contain a CV complete with a description of the candidate’s artistic achievements.

The candidate must indicate whether they will require a NOSPR-provided accompanist.

Only selected candidates will be invited to participate in the auditions. They will be informed about participation in the auditions no later than on 14.05.2024.

1st STAGE

1. J. Haydn – Trumpet Concerto in E-flat major, 1st movement (without a cadenza, B trumpet is obligatory)

2. Orchestra parts:

• L. van Beethoven – Ouverture ,,Leonora 2” – signal
• G. Mahler –  Symphony No. 5, 1st movement – beginning to bar 3 after number 1
• I. Stravinsky – ,,Petrushka” Ballet – from number 135 to number 139
• O Respighi – Pines of Rome, 2nd movement – ,,Pini Presso una catacomba”

2nd STAGE

1. A. Honegger – Intrada

2. Orchestra parts:

• M. Ravel – Piano concerto in G major, 1st movement
• G. Mahler –  Symphony No. 3, 3rd movement – post horn part from number 14 to number 15 (B trumpet is obligatory)
• M. Mussorgsky – ,,Pictures at an Exhibition” – Promenade, "Samuel" Goldenberg und "Schmuÿle" (up to 2nd bar after number 64)
• J. S. Bach – Weihnachtsoratorium, 6th movement – from number 64 to bar 13

Sheet music for the selected orchestra fragments will be emailed to persons qualified for the auditions on 14.05.2024.
